Meditasjon over Joh.13,1 - med påsken i sikte

Be aware that
You do it gently
When you wash my feet

It is only in pictures
It looks nice, you know

Actually you may not like
The smell of removing socks
Or the dirt
That comes from a muddy walk

And having my feet washed somehow
Feels a very intimate business
As well as being a nasty one

Not to speak of
Tickling or hurting me
I know there is nothing more vulnerable
Than soles exposed!

Though it may feel good
To have you wipe them gently with a towel
- Even between each toe -
After some warm, soapy water
And a good rinse

I could do with a massage
And some cream, then -
Now I trust you do it tenderly
Still not really enjoying
Being exposed to you

So just be gentle
When you wash my feet
Because they might still be sore and hurt, you see,
They have walked
A long, long way
To come here
